Kaki no tane, literally "persimmon seeds" (because they are shaped like a persimmon stone), are one of the most popular Japanese appetizers. They are small puffed rice cakes with soy sauce mixed with roasted peanuts. They are usually eaten with beer. These are wasabi-flavored.
