Yokan is a traditional Japanese sweet pastry (wagashi) extremely popular in the Land of the Rising Sun. Made from red bean paste (azuki) gelled with agar-agar, this pastry is very similar to fruit paste.

Yokans are best enjoyed with a cup of Japanese tea.
