S&B - Beef Hayashi from Asakusa
Hayashi is a recipe related to English beef stew, which has been transformed into a new recipe by Japanese cooks. Although it is very similar to a curry dish, hayashi is quite different in taste. The dish consists of sliced beef, onions and mushrooms in a thick demi-glace sauce usually containing red wine and tomato sauce. Rice is always served with hayashi (as with curry).
Japanese import.
